in the life of its community. Please remember, this orchestra belongs to the community.”

January 16-17, 2004 - Pops Tribute to the Beatles

Alan and Ann

Fans Alan Picard and Ann McLaran remember the era that brought us the Beatles, rock and roll, good times and a longing for peace.

Moffitt and Neighbors

Clarinetist Jim Moffitt is often seen in the lobby at intermission greeting friends and meeting new people. He is shown here on the left with his neighbors, Dale Allison, Ray Benedicktus and Ray's wife Momiala. Their friend Coleen Miori joins in on the right. While chatting about the concert, Ray mentioned that one of his favorite Beatles tunes is "A Hard Day's Night."

Moffitt, Foster, Parrish

Communication Specialist Scott Foster was part of the scene at the Blaisdell Concert Hall and joined Jim Moffitt and horn player Jonathan Parrish for this snapshot by Norm Foster.

Norman Foster and Anita Hall

The concertgoers scene extends backstage where audience members can often see the performing artists hanging out after the show. Here Symphony Clarinetest Norm Foster shows his Beatles fan side as he poses with Anita Hall, who dazzled the audience with her open-hearted performance of Beatles songs.

Moffitt Samantha

Clarinetist Jim Moffitt took a break to speak with Honolulu Symphony Ticketing Assistant Kylan McCallum (left) and Ticket Services Manager Samantha Rowland.

Dave Curtis

Backstage after A Tribute to the Beatles, Dave Curtis, News Director for KSSK and announcer for the Honolulu Pops, is shown here with visitors from Nashville. Trombonist Jim Decker, who plays jazz and pops styles as well as classical, completes the picture. From left to right are Dave Curtis, his sister-in-law Mary Ann Curtis, his wife Arlene, his brother Bob and Jim Decker.
